Our Journey

The Story Behind Cook Well

Clean modern kitchen workspace

Cook Well didn't start in a big cooking school or a fancy restaurant. It began in a small, tight apartment kitchen in Ohio, with a pile of dirty dishes and a smoke alarm that went off way too often.

I'm Adshi, and like many of you, I didn't know how to cook at first. My early twenties were full of kitchen disasters—hard chicken, pasta that was either too crunchy or too soft, and lots of burnt toast. I was frustrated and quite scared of cooking. Every cookbook I found used ingredients I couldn't find and steps I didn't understand.

Making Recipes You Can Trust

One Tuesday evening, after another "easy" recipe failed me, I realized what was missing: trust. Most recipes are written for perfect kitchens with professional tools. But in a real home kitchen, things are different. Ovens are too hot, knives are not sharp enough, and we are always in a hurry.

I decided to start Cook Well with one simple rule: Every recipe must be tested until it really works for everyone. I spent three years learning how cooking works—like why some fats are better for frying, how lemon or vinegar balances a heavy sauce, and why letting meat rest is so important. I wrote down everything, learning from my mistakes and using my successes to build this blog.
